How to choose a spare part
Spare parts are numbered in the form - Product name # number. The number after the # grid indicates the part of a specific spare part. Especially for rods, the smallest number #1 is the tip, and the largest is the handle. The handle will be marked as #2 for the two part rod. For three part rod the handle will be marked as #3, because #2 is the middle part. The exceptions are feeder rods, where the tip is not the spare part itself, and the mark #1 represents the uppermost part of the blank itself - the part where the feeder tips are inserted.

25.9.2022 Our testers: Ivan Solnica
On our blog, we have prepared a series of articles for you under the name Our testers, in which we would like to introduce you to the fishermen with whom we cooperate and with whom we move forward together. In them, you will learn how they got into fishing, what their biggest fish is, but also what their fishing dream is. The first fishing lover to be introduced to you will be our Slovak tester Ivan Solnica.
1. A few words about you...
My name is Ivan Solnica and I live in a village near Nové Zámky. I was born in 1987. I am very lucky to be able to share my passion for fishing with my wife Slávka, who is my great support on the water's edge, but also often away from home.
2. How long have you been fishing?
I have been fishing for over 25 years. I grew up on the fishing program RYBY, RYBKY, RYBIČKY and managed to get hold of the VHS video tape Veľký lov by Stan Rafaj. I dreamed of catching big carps on boilies. During this period I had smaller breaks and fish was just an additional hobby. About 7 years ago, carp fishing came to the top of my interests and became my lifestyle and a daily part of it.
3. How did you get to fishing?
The beginnings were on a small river with a wooden stick, 2 m of silon and a wine cork. My older brother used to take me fishing, and over time it changed to fishing for perch and mullet with a rod and reel. My first really own (not inherited) equipment were telescopes with a throwing load of 180g and a length of 3.3m - terrible shovel handles :D, but they were mine. :) Until now, I have one of them and it has been more than 20 years.
4. Your favorite fishing technique?
I have basically gone through all the fishing techniques except fly fishing, but the one closest to my heart remains the bait fishing technique. I like my peace of mind and I have no problem waiting several days for that dream alarm sound. I don't really like active types of fishing. I just like to sit in a chair, open a radler, light a cigar and enjoy the surrounding nature...
5. Do you prefer to fishing alone or with a group?
90% of my fishing is alone or with my wife, but I like also fishing with a group once in a while. But they have to be decent fishermen without a lot of drinking, music... I don't like that.
6. Favorite fish - and why is it your favorite?
Definitely carp, I love the uniqueness and variety in them. I often compare carp to people. Because even carp have their own personality like people. There are fish that are stupid and will eat basically everything that comes their way. They cannot learn from their mistakes. But there are also fish that are very careful and learn, they are not easily fooled. We know of fish that are caught in a certain water several times a year, but we also know of fish that show up in the mat maybe only once every few years, it's fascinating.
7. Favorite destination? Do you prefer to fish on rivers or still waters?
I like to fish everywhere, I don't prefer one or another type of water more. For several months, I can be fishing on the river, which you would have jumped over if you tried harder, and I enjoy fighting with beautiful fish. Then one day the impulse comes that I would like to change and I go to the water where it is necessary to take the bait 500m away from the shore. Fighting in the waves and work hard for every shot. Then all of a sudden I want a break and I go to catch on some small lake and then I think to myself: what about the great Danube? And in a few days I'm fighting there. :) And so on and on.
8. What is your biggest fish caught so far?
My biggest fish is a mirror carp, 29 kg or something (I don't remember exactly). But I certainly don't put this catch as my best. I caught it on a heavily fished gravel pit, and the way to catch this carp was nothing special. Actually, I can't even say exactly which fish was my best. For example, 25 kg from VN Kráľová or 23 kg from the main stream of the Danube are also worth mentioning, I value those fish much, much more. But overall, I don't care much about the weight - the “magic” weight of 20 kg is not important to me. The path I had to take to get a certain fish is important, that's why I have, for example, a 14kg fish much higher than a 20kg fish in my ranking. For example, fishing on the Danube where I managed to catch 2 huge monsters 20 and 23kg (they are the only fish from that river that I weighed). I will never forget those moments in my life, because it was simply the Danube. Some people find it strange, but until recently I didn't even know how many fish over 20 kg I catched. I just didn't care about that number at all and actually I still don't. Someone is chasing numbers, every gram. I have it set in my head exactly the opposite. :)
9. Your fishing dream (e.g. dream fish or destination)?
I had a dream to fish on the Lac de Saint Cassien in France, but the conditions on the lake changed and that dream disappeared. A few years ago they tightened the rules there and it is not possible to sleep on the shores of the lake, you just have to unpack in the morning and pack everything in the evening and go to the camp, hotel. And the next morning to compete again with other fishermen for good places. I don't really like this kind of fishing, but maybe one day I will go there and make my dream come true.
10. Is there anything you would like to experience or try in fishing?
I would like to get to such water where beautiful big wild carps would swim and I wouldn't meet another person in 10 days. But this dream is really only a dream in these times. :)
11. Would you like to say something to our fans?
Always have respect and care for nature and animals in the first place, it doesn't matter what appears on the scale after the catch, it matters how much joy you have in your heart. Be respectful and humble, these days that is a great rarity.
