How to choose a spare part
Spare parts are numbered in the form - Product name # number. The number after the # grid indicates the part of a specific spare part. Especially for rods, the smallest number #1 is the tip, and the largest is the handle. The handle will be marked as #2 for the two part rod. For three part rod the handle will be marked as #3, because #2 is the middle part. The exceptions are feeder rods, where the tip is not the spare part itself, and the mark #1 represents the uppermost part of the blank itself - the part where the feeder tips are inserted. 12.5.2022 The first spring expedition
At the end of April, I finally had the opportunity to go on the first spring expedition this year. As my goal, I choose a completely new and unknown lake near our southern neighbors in Austria. However, I only had 4 days of fishing available, which is definitely not a lot in an unknown location. I decided to take a risk and bet everything on one card. While most of the local fishermen were settled in places with greater depths, I chose a relatively unpopular place with a long shallow zone for local conditions. I was hoping that the forthcoming promised warming would bring me a plus in this area.To lay the assembly, I found a place with a hard bottom only two meters deep just in front of several sunken trees, which I lured more massively. I knew I would have to use a really uncompromising line-up here.
I choose Tokyo line with a diameter of 0.369mm , Shock Line with a diameter of 0.60 mm and Thorn hook Fighter , which is built exactly for these conditions. The tactics were clear, a tight-fitting rod and a strong-tight brake so that the fish would not have the slightest chance of escaping the sunken trees.
The next sunny day proved me right and the shots began to appear in incredibly fast sequence, I successfully pulled one carp after another from the water. However, there was one big problem, and that was the size of the fish caught. For the first 2 days, I caught a total of over 20 carps, but they were all in the 5-10 kg weight range. At that moment, I began to have some doubts about my decision, and the thoughts began to creep into my head that I might not really have chosen the right place, and from that place I would only catch small fish, while the larger ones would be concentrated at greater depths.
On the third day in the morning, however, I received a very strong shot, and after a fierce fight, a carp weighing 19.5 kg ended up on my mat.
Doubts were allayed and I still have the last 24 hours of the expedition left. The optimism was back and I wanted to crown the expedition with a fish that would cross the 20 kg limit, but unfortunately the shots from my place suddenly stopped completely. The following hours were then completely without any sign of fish activity. The shot came up 2 hours before, among us carp anglers, such an unpopular pack of things. Another incredibly tenacious carp fought me for many long minutes. Then, when a massive chubby body of a beautiful mirror carp slid into the landing net, I knew that this fish would easily cross the above-mentioned border. The weight stopped at 24 kg. The well-known saying that the end crowns the work was confirmed again and I left home completely satisfied.
